hard pastel.
Beginning the first
application of pastel

pastel completed.
Completed alcohol wash to
solidify composition  and shapes
By softening the background
I am able to create a wonderful
feeling of distance and atmosphere
which will keep the focus on the
water and the trees.
At this point I want to begin to
emphasize the light on the
grass and cottonwood trees
before I begin to develop the
water
This painting is for the most part
complete. I will put it up on the wall
just to have it available in case any  
adjustments are needed later.
